Any Design Is Not Permanent On the Internet – On a Book It Is

Have you ever noticed the fashion and trend of reading books has been significantly reduced over the past several years? The trend of physical magazines is also not as hot as it used to be in the past. There are many reasons, and one of the reasons is that there is usually timeless content packed inside printed books and magazines. Although the permanency of a book still feels so special when compared to a blog post and even one of the novels on my iBooks apps. You might have also noticed that there is a strange lack of permanency when we consider the digital design that never moves into the physical world. Perhaps that is the reason why you would not find the covers of the novels very interesting, because unlike wordpress themes that could be changed frequently whenever you want, novel covers can’t be refreshed and changed again and again.

Among many other features and qualities, internet also has the feature to never stop changing. This is because we do not want the internet to stop changing. We get bored of the same stuff and thus we want new looks, new ideas, refreshed stuff and redesigns. This is what we desire. Just because of internet, the trends of every field and industry are moving at a much faster pace than before. But this all trend is only for the best. Google, being the most popular and well-liked search engine constantly keeps trying to refine its experience. Just compare the websites today with the websites of five years back! The official website of Apple Inc five years back would look simply rubbish if you see it today. You would see a significant difference between the designs, functionality and navigation structure of the websites of the past and the websites of today.

This constantly changing nature of internet is excellent but it also alters the way we make and consume content. People used to read magazines and books in the past but nowadays people have the tendency to read everything on the internet instead. This is good but now people don’t remember to keep their favorite designs and content with them because every other day they see a different design and content. Usually bloggers are comfortable with their writing following the role of a newspaper. They try to serve a daily need with the most special things clipped and saved for later.

So basically we can say that although internet offers great advantages and gives us new content and designs every day but the significance of conventional books and magazines stays forever.
